Public competition for the selection of the director

Pursuant to Article 35 paragraph 2 and Article 36 of the Law on Culture (Official Gazette 72/09), Article 60 paragraph 1 item 09 of the Statute of the KOLO Ensemble No. 02-1238/01.10.2012. and the Decision of the Board of Directors No. 10/15 dated 12 May 2015

Board of Directors of the KOLO Folk Dance and Song Ensemble

is hereby launching

Public competition for the selection of the director of the KOLO Folk Dance and Song Ensemble of Serbia

 

The competition for the director of the KOLO Folk Dance and Song Ensemble of Serbia is open to candidates who meet the following Statute requirements:

  1. They are citizens of the Republic of Serbia;
  2. They have a university degree (appropriate higher education in second level study programmes (graduate or master); in specialist vocational study or specialist academic study programmes or higher education in undergraduate four-year study programmes);
  3. They have at least eight years of experience in the field of culture;
  4. They have no official investigations being conducted against them and no official indictments filed against them for offences;
  5. They have active knowledge of at least one world language;
  6. They are of good health.

The application must include: candidate’s full name, date and place of birth, address, education information, information about the type and length of service, and information about any areas of specialist knowledge.
The candidates must submit the following documentation:

  1. Proposed programme of work and development of the Ensemble for a period of four years;
  2. A certified copy of the diploma or certificate of the acquired professional training;
  3. Certified copies of the employment booklet or other evidence of work experience;
  4. A CV that must contain elements that prove expertise in the operation of cultural institutions and an overview professional results;
  5. A competent authority’s certificate that proves they have no official investigations being conducted against them and no official indictments filed against them for offences (issued within six months before applying);
  6. A citizenship certificate (issued within six months before applying);
  7. A birth certificate copy;
  8. A certified ID card copy;
  9. Proof of active knowledge of world languages;
  10. Evidence of good health (original copy).

Deadline for applications: 15 days from the competition start date.

Applications for the competition with the proof of meeting the requirements with the reference “Competition” shall be submitted in writing, by registered mail in a closed envelope addressed to: Ansambl narodnih igara i pesama Srbije „KOLO“, 11000 Beograd, Mitropolita Petra br. 8, or in person any working day from 9 AM to 3 PM at the same address, office no. 31.

The selection procedure:

The public competition for the selection of the director of the KOLO Ensemble is announced and conducted by the Board of Directors of the KOLO Ensemble.

The Board of Directors of the KOLO Ensemble is obligated to carry out the selection of candidates within 30 days from the public competition end date and submit the proposal for appointment to the ministry in charge of culture.

The Board of Directors can nominate only one candidate as the director of the KOLO Ensemble to the ministry in charge of culture.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia, as the founder of the KOLO Ensemble, appoints the director of the KOLO Ensemble based on the proposal of the KOLO Ensemble’s Board of Directors that was previously adopted by the ministry in charge of culture.

The director of the KOLO Ensemble is appointed for a period of four years.

The Board of Directors is obligated to review all applications received in the competition.

The Board of Directors considers and evaluates only timely and complete applications for the competition.

Incomplete and untimely applications for the competition will not be considered.

Timely application is any application submitted within 15 days from the public competition start date.

Any application that contains all required evidence from the competition requirements is considered complete.

The candidates’ submitted applications and documents will be available to the public on the official website of the KOLO Ensemble.

Professional qualifications, knowledge, and skills that are verified in the selection process: knowledge of world languages (written and oral tests); knowledge of the operation of the KOLO Ensemble and/or related institutions; and the candidates’ organizational (oral);

The proposed programme of work and development of the Ensemble for a period of four years must have up to five (5) pages.

All sessions of the Board of Directors concerned with the nominating of candidates for the position of the director of the KOLO Ensemble will be open to the public and the media.
